Properties worth millions of naira were on Friday destroyed by an inferno which gutted a shopping complex in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.
Some of the goods destroyed by the inferno are- computer sets, photocopiers, printers and generating sets, among others.
A shop owner in the complex, Mr. David Chibuzor, said he was informed about the incident by security men on patrol who called him on phone.
“I cannot ascertain the cause of the fire which also destroyed a shop near own. Part of the building that houses the shops was also affected.
“I lost properties worth millions of naira, I am owing MTN Communications N200, 000 for cards they supplied me on credit,” he said.
The state Chief Fire Officer, Mr. Simon Mkpuma, said that it took the quick intervention of his officers to put off the fire
