I am happy what happened has happened. Every parent should allow their kids do whatever they can do to display their talents…' those were the words of Emike Uyanne, the mother of 8-year old Amarachi Uyanne who emerged winner of the maiden edition of Nigeria's Got Talent reality show.
The 8-year old singer and dancer from Benin City, Edo State, was announced winner of the highly competitive and entertaining show after scooping the highest number of votes from viewers. The grand finale was held at Bamako Studios, Ikeja, Lagos.
Amarachi who wowed fans including the judges at the studios and viewers alike, is the proud recipient of a whopping N10 million cash prize and she's got it all figured out even at such a young age.
"I want to study abroad with the money", she enthused and went further to show her philanthropic side by declaring, "I also want to help orphans and the needy." While her skills were never in doubt from the beginning, Amarachi believes she couldn't have made it far without God. "I never thought that I will win. I thank God for helping through it all," she said.
