The mother of a member of the House of Representatives, Abiodun Abudu Balogun, representing Ijebu East and Ogun waterside federal constituency, who was kidnapped about a week ago has been released by her abductors.
The lawmaker said his mother, Abedatu Abudu Balogun was released on Friday and that she is in good condition of health.
Mr Balogun is the deputy chairman of the House of Representatives' Committee on Internal Security.
Mrs Balogun was abducted at her residence, Ita Otu Ijebu waterside area of Ogun State, South West Nigeria by a gang of six unknown gunmen.
While announcing the release of his mother by the suspected kidnappers, the lawmaker thanked his friends, the people of Ogun state and Nigerians for their concerns while the travail lasted.
