Anxiety, Fears and Anger, as Yobeans await President Jonathan


The presence of security personnels deploy to Yobe state and the intense checks of persons coming in and out of Yobe state can be decribed as uncalled for, but the security at the entrance of the state told newsmen that the subjection of public to serious scrutiny in neccessary due to the fact that, Yobe and Borno states are the den of terrorists activities in the northeast.
According to a security officer in front of government house, Damaturu, the President is a target of the terrorists and the threat recently by Boko Haram Leader, the need to ensure tight security for the President is a matter of seriousness.
The security agents, who spoke harshly to people at Yobe Government House entrance said he was not brought in from Abuja to fail in his responsibilities; as far as he is concerned, the president is to be protected and any other person coming to witness the president’s visit is considered as potential threat to the security of Mr. President.Speaking to one of the stakeholders in Yobe state at the Wawa hall where Mr. President is expected to have a talk with the people and elders of Yobe, Alhaji Nuhu Idrisa told DailyPost correspondent that, the security personnels from the Aso Rock Villa have no respect for elders.
According to him,’We can not eat Mr. President, the security are checking everything and almost disgracing me. Only that they did not ask me to stripe necked, this is their work but they should do it respect and sense of human. We as Nigerians have the right to be treated with dignity and as Yobeans we should not be treated as terrorists.’
