Amadi said this while responding to questions from the correspondent of the Punch on the telephone. He said the commission did not have evidence yet to reduce tariff. He, therefore, stressed the commitment of NERC to improving the implementation of the Multi-Year Tariff Order 2, and enhance quality of service to consumers.
According to him, “There are no plans to reduce tariff. You don’t reduce tariff based on hearsay. It is a serious business based on verified evidence that the tariff is excessive or unaffordable. We don’t have that evidence now… What we need is to improve the implementation of the MYTO 2 and enhance quality and quantity of supply in the market.”
