Fidau prayers hold today in Kaduna for Buhari’s late daughter

Funeral prayers (Fidau) will hold today, Friday for the late Zulai, daughter of Former Head of State General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) in Kaduna State.
Zulai died yesterday barely two days after giving birth to a baby girl through a caesarean section in a Nasara Hospital, Marafa Estate, Kaduna.
She was born December 5, 1972 (40 years) and had battle with sickle cell anaemia.
She left behind her husband, retired military Captain Mahmud Junaid and three kids (two girls and one boy), including her new baby.
Until her death, she was a staff of National Steel Raw Material Exploration Agency and an alumnus of Ahmedu Bello University (ABU), Zaria.

Parents learn of daughter’s death on Facebook

The parents of a south Georgia college student first learned from Facebook that their daughter had been found dead in a dormitory study room shortly before Thanksgiving. Now, they hope that Facebook and other social media sites can help solve the death of 17-year-old Jasmine Benjamin, which police are investigating as a homicide.
The Valdosta State University freshman was found unresponsive on a study room couch on Nov. 18. A family friend forwarded the Facebook post about the teen’s death to her parents before they were officially notified by authorities, said A. Thomas Stubbs, an attorney for the victim’s mother, Judith Brogdon, and her stepfather, James Jackson. But many questions remain unanswered about how she died.
The family has hired a private investigator, and a new Facebook site has been set up in hopes that students and others might share tips.
While some Facebook comments have already been turned over to law enforcement officers, the family hopes friends, classmates or others who noticed suspicious comments will also alert authorities. “Anything that reveals a little more information than what’s publicly known about her death, those are the kind of comments police are looking for as someone who might warrant a closer examination,” Stubbs said.
Also of interest are “unusual comments or unusually timed comments about her death,” he said. Police detectives have canvassed dormitories and interviewed several students on the campus, located about 250 miles south of the family’s home in Gwinnett County, outside Atlanta.
Benjamin wanted to follow the career path of her mother and become a nurse. Police say they’re treating the case as a homicide, though autopsy results are not complete and they can’t say for certain whether she was killed. There were no obvious signs of a crime when her body was found, but an autopsy raised questions, authorities have said.
“We’re providing what resources are necessary to assist Valdosta State University police in solving this crime,” Georgia Bureau of Investigation spokesman John Bankhead said. “The crime lab is expediting evidence from this incident.”
Shortly after Benjamin’s parents learned of her death from Facebook, Lawrenceville police officers knocked on the doors of the family home to inform them officially that their daughter was dead, Stubbs said. “As frustrating as that may be for the family to learn that way, they understand it’s a different world,” Stubbs said.
The family has yet to learn the possible timeframe of when their daughter died, and police have not shared any theories about how she was killed, Stubbs said. “We know that they have looked at the phone records, video records that they can find in the school,” he said. Beyond that, they’ve been going through legal procedures that are required to obtain records from Facebook Inc.
The family hired Martinelli Investigations Inc. of Lawrenceville to assist in the investigation. Private investigator Robin Martinelli said Wednesday that any video near the scene, even if may seem insignificant, could prove helpful in the investigation. “It wouldn’t matter if it was two weeks before, two hours before or 20 minutes before,” she said.
Officials at the university say the wiring for a surveillance system in the dormitory where Benjamin died was already installed. Theresa Boyd, director of communications at the school, said the cameras were on backorder and had not yet arrived when Benjamin died.
The cameras are now being installed in residence hall elevators, Boyd said. Martinelli said she’s confident that police are working diligently to follow up on leads, but private investigators can often provide valuable assistance, she said. “On any homicide, they’re going to work around the clock aggressively every minute, and they’re doing that,” she said.
She said Jasmine Benjamin was a strong student who showed great potential. “Her favorite color was purple, her nickname was Jazzy,” she said. “She wanted to help people, plain and simple,” her stepfather, James Jackson, told WSB-TV. “That was her goal in life. That’s all she talked about since she was young — ‘I want to be able to help people.’”
Valdosta State campus police, city police and the GBI were working together to conduct interviews and collect evidence, the university said in a statement Tuesday. University officials said they couldn’t release any further information.
Martinelli hopes students away at college keep in touch with their parents — and give them the passwords to social networking sites and their cell phones in case anything happens. “If you have passcodes to your computer, your phone, please tell your parents,” she said. “Don’t tell everybody in the world, but tell your parents your passcodes.”
She said some of the best advice parents can give students is this: “They should listen to their gut,” she said. “If they walk into a situation and it’s not feeling right, leave.”

Tomb Raiders Dig up more than 100 Graves in Benin Cemetery in Search of Human Organs

As a lot of people might be thinking, Benin being referred to here is the West African country and not the capital of Edo State in Nigeria. The tomb raiders have reportedly dug up more than 100 graves at a cemetery in Benin since Saturday for what authorities suspect is a black-market trade in human organs and skulls for voodoo ritual fetishes.
This incident is considered the most serious case of grave-robbing in the West African state which is believed to be the world capital of voodoo; where most of the country’s 9 million residents practice a benign form of the official religion.
Authorities in Dangbo, a village 10 km (6 miles) from the capital Porto-Novo, began an investigation after a mason working at the cemetery said he spotted several masked men digging up the graves, from which organs and skulls were removed. “The desecration of graves is about money in this region,” said Joseph Afaton, director of the cemetery. “It is for sacrifices, or for bewitching.”
In this part of the continent, body parts of humans and rare animals are prized by some people for their supposed supernatural powers, and are used in occult ceremonies. Traffickers often obtain human remains from grave robbers, but a recent spate of killings has also been linked to the gruesome trade.

Incredible Photos Of Very Muscular Female Body Builders

If you were feeling rather self-conscious about carrying a little extra flab this winter, then look away now.
There’s no room for slacking in the world of female bodybuilding as the women who posed for these incredible portraits show. They have honed their physiques over years of dedication, hard work and determination. The international athletes were captured at the peak of their physical condition by acclaimed photographer and artist Martin Schoeller.
The competitive sport of female bodybuilding has origins in the bikini contests of the 1960s but the first true event was the U.S. Women’s National Physique Championship in 1978 – which judged participants solely on their muscles.

According to the National Physique Committee, an amateur organization established in 1982, there are strict rules set out for those who compete in female bodybuilding contests.
Female competitors must wear a two-piece costume when competing and although prints, fringes, lace and sparkle are all allowed, bodybuilders are restricted from hiking up the suits to better show off their physiques.
Jewellery is banned until the final stages when earrings are permitted- although decorative hair pieces are out. Glasses, props or chewing gum are also prohibited.
During competitions, bodybuilders usually carry out a routine set to music where they strike poses to best show off their muscles. Contestants, coated in generous helpings of oil, are judged on symmetry, shape, proportion, muscle tone, poise and beauty flow.

Organiser and promoter Joe Wheatley has said: ‘Muscle Beach Venice one of the largest amusement attractions in the Los Angeles area. The focus remains exercise and nutrition and the site continues to be the grassroots soul of bodybuilding famous throughout the world.’
The female bodybuilders were captured by acclaimed photographer Martin Schoeller, 43, who is perhaps best known for his close-up portraits of some of the world’s most recognizable faces including Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, Clint Eastwood, Angelina Jolie and George Clooney.

My Son Did Not Kill His Wife – Mudashiru Arowolo

Akolade Arowolo who is standing trial at the Ikeja High Court for allegedly stabbing his banker wife Titilayo Omozoje to death last year, opened his defence with his witness, Mudashiru Arowolo telling the court that the deceased only had three wounds on her body.
In his witness, Mudashiru Arowolo who happened to be Kolade’s father said his son had wound on his palm which was a confirmation that he was trying to wrestle a knife from his wife.
He said he was surprised at what he read in the newspaper; the claim of Professor John Obafunwa, Chief Pathologist at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital who testified that the deceased had 76 stab wounds on her body, insisting she only had three.
He said he discovered some 20 wounds on the body of his son.
He also told the court that he knew that his son and the wife had been having quarrels but that Akolade was never violent.
The witness also claimed that he once heard the deceased threaten to kill his son and then herself.
He further said that Omozoje had left the husband’s house since January 2011 and that he was surprised to see the dead body of his daughter-in-law on June 25 in Akolade’s flat, after they had forced the door open.
“My son complained that the marriage was characterised by undue interference from our in-laws, both the father-in-law, Mr. George Oyakhire and the stepmother-In-law, Adetoun Oyakhire.”
“Immediately after the marriage, the couple started buying baby things because Omozoje was pregnant before they got married. My son told us that Onozoje requested for N500,000 and he said he could only afford N100,000. That was one quarrel. Immediately, Omozoje left for her parents’ house.
“Another instance of their quarrel was after she had been delivered of their baby in the hospital. Kolade said the stepmother-In-law had insisted she would keep the placenta. Then a quarrel ensued. But the Medical Director of the hospital gave it Kolade, being the baby’s father.
When told that different prosecution witnesses had said they saw many wounds on the body of the dead banker, the defendant’s father maintained that he only saw three wounds on the left part of her chest.
He however admitted to saying in one of his statements that he did ask why his son could have killed his daughter-in-law.
Under re-examination by his lawyer, Mudashiru said the statement was a mere response to the question of the IPO who asked how the defendant could have killed his wife.
Justice Lateefat Okunnu adjourned the matter till 4 December, 2012 for continuation of trial.

I killed my friend to put him out of pain – Suspected Murderer Confesses

A friend in need, they say, is a friend indeed! Call it euthanasia (mercy killing) if you like, but the story you are about to read definitely looks a lot like a case of mental instability. Joseph Akindele, a middle aged man, has confessed to the killing his friend, Mufutau, to relieve him of the persistent pain and agony he was going through due to an undisclosed ailment, affirming that his friend is “now happy in death.”
The suspect had been arrested with a bag containing the skull and other remains of the deceased by a team of patrol officers in the Badagry area of Lagos State. In his written statement to the police, he said, “I am a tout. I live under the Gbaji/Iyafin bridge at Badagry with Muftau. I don’t have a means of livelihood and that’s why I live under the bridge. I work as agbero (tout) at motor parks; there, I get money to feed. Muftau has been living under the bridge but he was always sick and there was no money to go to hospital.”
He continues, “He was suffering too much because his sickness will not go. We didn’t have money for treatment, so after watching him in that pathetic state, I decided to put a stop to it by killing him with a sharp cutlass, so he can rest from the pains he was going through,” he added.
Meanwhile, the suspect has been transferred to the Homicide department at Panti, Yaba for further investigation to ascertain if he is in a good frame of mind, a ritualist or/and a cold-blooded murderer.

Photos: Meet the World’s Tallest Woman: Where are the Men?

For men who think they can stand up to face any woman, meeting Yao Defen might have them giving this idea a second thought.
Standing at 7 ft 8 (2.33 m) tall, Chinese-born Defen is the tallest living woman, as recognized by Guinness World Records. Born on July 15, 1972 and weighing 200 kilograms (440 lb), the size of her feet is 26 (UK) / 78 (EU).
Her gigantism is said to be due to a tumor in her pituitary gland. She was six feet nine inches tall by the age of fifteen years. Due to her condition, Defen has undergone series of surgeries. Yao currently suffers from hypertension, heart disease, poor nutrition, and osteoporosis.
Acromegaly often results from a tumor within the pituitary gland that causes excess growth hormone secretion. As a result, the body’s features become enlarged. It can also delay the onset of puberty as is the case with Yao. She has no secondary sexual characteristics. Potential complication lacking surgery includes blindness and eventually premature death. She lives near her mother (who is only four feet, eight inches tall) in a small village in rural China.

37-Year-Old Mother Gives Birth To Her 16th Child And She Already Wants Another

Baker’s wife Sue Radford knows what it is to have a bun in the oven – she has just given birth to her 16th child.
The 37-year-old supermum now has nine sons and seven daughters since welcoming little Casper into the world just over a month ago – in a labour that took just 16 minutes.
But incredibly, being Britain’s biggest family alone is not enough for Sue, who told husband Noel as soon as she came home from hospital: ‘I want another.’
The couple, who together run a bakery in Morecambe, Lancashire, are completely self-sufficient and receive no state benefits.
They live in a nine-bedroom former care home in the town which has an industrial-sized washing machine and a giant fridge to keep the mountains of food the family get through every day.
Food costs the couple £250 a week. Each day the family eats three loaves of bread, two boxes of cereal and 18 pints of milk while an average supper can include 16 pork chops, 15lbs of potatoes, three cabbages and 30 carrots.
‘I just love being a mummy. We are so lucky,’ Sue told The Sun. ‘I get very emotional when I see the children all together.
‘I know people stare. Some think they won’t get the attention they need, but people don’t realise how dedicated we are… And maybe we’ll be lucky enough to have more.’
The couple began their family unexpectedly early when they were teenagers and she was still at school. For other couples this might have spelled disaster, but not for the Radfords, whose eldest son Christopher is now 23.
Sue finished school and they married when she was 18, planning to have ‘perhaps another one or two’ children. Once Sophie, 18, and Chloe, 17, had arrived, however, the couple discovered they were enjoying parenthood so much that they just kept going.
It was after the arrival of Jack, 15, and while Mrs Radford was pregnant with Daniel, 13, that the couple found their current house – a nine-bedroom Victorian former old people’s home that was in need of work. And sure enough it wasn’t long before with each new room they decorated, there were children to share it.
In quick succession they had Luke, 11, Millie, ten, Katie, nine, James, eight, Ellie, seven, and Aimee, six. Then, after a brief gap, came Josh, four, Max, three, and Tilly May, two, followed.
A year ago Sue gave birth to Oscar before Casper was born last month at a healthy 8lb and 8oz.
Mr Radford works hard running the bakery, which is just a short drive from home, while Mrs Radford helps out whenever she’s not on maternity leave. And their extended family just got bigger after Sophie gave birth to Sue and Noel’s first grandchild Daisy.

Collapsed building: Bereaved widow to be told of daughters’ death monday

Sixty-eight-year-old Adebisi Coker, who lost her only two children, Bukky and Toyin, in the building that collapsed at Jakande Low Cost Housing Estate, Isolo, Lagos, on Wednesday, has been moved to Lagoon Hospital, Apapa, Lagos.
She was taken to the hospital on Friday by a relation and Peter Adegoke, whose family took Coker in after her rescue from the debris of the building.
Adegoke told our correspondent on Friday that Coker had yet to be told of her daughters’ deaths.
“We have to get her prepared. We decided to place her under medical care in order to make her fit enough to hear the sad news,” he said.
Coker sustained bruises on her back and leg when the part of the bungalow she was living at the estate collapsed, killing her two children.
Peter said, “She asked of her children today, but we told her they were still receiving treatment. But she insisted I should help to check on them at the hospital.
“We are really concerned about her health. We don’t want her to break down when she eventually receives the news.”
Coker is likely to be told of her children’s death on Monday, our correspondent learnt.
“We would watch her condition till Monday. If we think she is fit enough, we would break the news to her that day,” Adegoke said.
On Thursday, when our correspondent spoke to Coker, she said she could not recollect the moment of the collapse.
According to her, she only woke up in the Oja Health Centre, where she was taken to after her rescue from the debris.
A receptionist at the hospital confirmed that Coker was admitted on Friday evening.
Adebisi Coker and the dead daughters
The receptionist, who declined to give her name, said it was against the hospital’s policy for visitors to see patients after 7 pm.
She said, “Mrs. Coker was brought in this evening (Friday) by two of her relatives. She is on the second floor.
“You cannot see the admitting doctor because he is not around now. The other doctors are busy doing ward round.”

Governor Fayemi’s security aides overpower armed robbers on Awka-Enugu expressway

Security operatives attached to the convoy of Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, on Friday morning dislodged a gang of armed robbers from the Enugu-Awka Expressway and rescued over 500 stranded road users.
The armed robbers had laid a siege to the route, five kilometers away from Aniocha village, and had dispossessed many motorists of their belongings, the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Olayinka Oyebode, said in a statement.
He said the robbery operation forced many road users to abandon their vehicles on the road before the convoy arrived the spot around 10.20a.m.
The hoodlums attacked the convoy but were dislodged by the robbery gang following a superior fire exchange.
After dislodging the gang, the convoy led all the stranded commuters and motorists out of the area.

Teacher Accused Of Making Pupil Drink Urine

Authorities in Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad, India have launched an investigation into allegations that a teacher in a private school allegedly made a five-year-old pupil drink urine.
An official of the education department at Anaparthy ‘mandal’ (block) in East Godavari district of coastal Andhra region began a probe into the incident amid contradictory versions over what happened at the Satyabhama Primary School.
District education officer (DEO) Srinivasa Reddy said he had asked block education officer Somi Reddy to conduct an inquiry and submit a report.
Police said Gummadi Satya Gowri, who allegedly made the pupil drink urine, remained at large.
On a petition by a NGO AP Balala Hakkula Sangham, the state human rights commission also ordered an inquiry into the incident, which took place Wednesday but came to light Thursday.
Anjaneya Reddy’s parents Surya Reddy and Ganga Maheswari alleged that the teacher made their son, a Class 1 pupil, drink urine.
He along with three of his class mates had urinated in a tumbler and kept it in a corner of their classroom. On learning about this, the teacher reprimanded the pupils, who put the blame on Anjaneya Reddy.
The teacher then allegedly forced the boy to drink the urine. When he resisted, she asked the other pupils to hold him.
Police said the boy changed his version later to say that the teacher made other boys throw urine on him. The police began investigations on a complaint by the boy’s parents.
The incident triggered an outcry with parents demanding strong action against the school management.
School authorities claimed that some boys urinated in a tumbler and threw it on each other.
Similar incidents were reported from West Bengal and Tamil Nadu earlier this year. A Class 5 girl was allegedly forced to drink her urine by the hostel warden in a school in West Bengal in July. In the second incident, a 14-year-old pupil in Tamil Nadu was also forced to drink his own urine by three teachers. [GN

72-year-old man released from prison, murders wife after finding out she is pregnant

Renowned black empowerment activist Sonny Chasi (72) has been arrested for allegedly killing his wife.
Chasi reportedly found his wife, Dorcas Chasi (41) six months pregnant when he was released from prison about three weeks ago. He had been serving a seven-year jail term for selling his house in Waterford to two different people.
Chasi allegedly made a false report to the police that they had been attacked by robbers who severely assaulted his wife on Saturday, resulting in her dying in hospital the following day. Sources close to the couple said when Chasi was released from prison, after serving three years and eight months, he found his wife having moved from Waterford and was staying with relatives in Nkulumane.
“He went to Nkulumane and was devastated to find her six months pregnant. He was involved in a physical confrontation with her over the issue and went about telling people that he was very pained by her infidelity,” said a relative.
One of his friends said Chasi went to Bulawayo Central Police Station covered in blood on Saturday and reported that he had been mugged and could not locate his wife.
“In the days leading to the incident, he seemed to have reconciled with his wife. He went to the police station at about 10pm and told them he had been attacked by four robbers while walking with his wife at the intersection of 5th Street and Lawley Road, near 12th Avenue,” said the friend.
The friend said although Chasi’s clothes had blood, he had no bruises on him.
“He told the police that the robbers pounced on his wife when she tried to intervene when they were beating him up. Police went to the scene and found his wife unconscious. She had bruises all over her body and her forehead was swollen. She died in the Intensive Care Unit at the United Bulawayo Hospitals on Sunday,” said the friend.
He said Chasi seemed disoriented when he told them the story on Sunday.
“We all felt sorry for him and thought fate was being unkind to him. We even thought he would commit suicide because misfortune seemed to be piling on him,” the friend said.
A source close to the investigations said police got suspicious when they found out that Chasi had found his wife pregnant when he came out of prison, prompting them to start treating him as a suspect.
Contacted for comment, acting national Criminal Investigations Department (CID) spokesperson Detective Sergeant Hlahlane Ndlela confirmed that Chasi was in police custody.
“I can confirm that we are handling a murder case in which the suspect, Sonny Chasi of Bulawayo allegedly killed his wife, Dorcas Chasi. The suspect may appear in court tomorrow,” said Det Sgt Ndlela.
Chasi, a former member of the Zimbabwe Indigenous Economic and Miners Action Group, is famous for stopping numerous auctions in which banks or big companies were selling property belonging to economically disadvantaged people.
He was once the principal officer of the Bulawayo Chapter of the Affirmative Action Group and wanted to run for the post of Mayor for Bulawayo in 2000. At one time, he was vice-president of the Athletics Association of Zimbabwe. In 1982, he distinguished himself in the sport by becoming the first qualified black race starter in the country

As a result, the body's features become enlarged. It can also delay the onset of puberty as is the case with Yao. She has no secondary sexual characteristics. Potential complication lacking surgery includes blindness and eventually premature death. She lives near her mother (who is only four feet, eight inches tall) in a small village in rural China.

It’s easier to convict Yahoo Boys than to convict the “Big” corrupt leaders – EFCC Laments

Nigeria’s anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has expressed its frustration over the difficulties faced in trying to convict corrupt government officials.
The Chairman of the Commission, Mr. Ibrahim Lamorde, on Thursday gave reasons the agency could not secure conviction of treasury looters. He was appearing before the Senate Committee on Drugs, Narcotics and Financial Crimes in Abuja to defend the commission’s budget.
Mr. Lamorde complained that the judiciary is the main culprit hindering the EFCC from prosecuting the big thieves. According to him, this year alone, the agency has recorded not less than 200 convictions; but these are mainly advanced fee fraud (aka 419) and yahoo-yahoo suspects. He said that the “big theives” use the country’s convoluted judicial system to frustrate trial.
In his words, “This year alone, we recorded over 200 convictions in various courts across the country, but they are mostly advance fee fraud, we have the yahoo yahoo, we have the commercial cases, we have the executives of financial institutions that are involved in currency trafficking.
But, concerning the cases that most people are interested in their conclusion, the “big theives” whose cases are before the Supreme Court, Lamorde has this to say: “Unfortunately, these are people who have the resources to drag these cases indefinitely and perpetually. That is why we have established a very strong Assets Forfeiture Unit. The first thing we do now is that we try to recover and confiscate the assets of individuals that we are investigating because it is only when you deprive them of their resources that you will be able to force them to stand trial. Once they have access to their resources and assets, they will use it to continue to delay and drag some of these trials.”

Murder suspect pours water on his lawyer’s head in court [PHOTO]

At least his lawyer kept a cool head.
On Monday, as members of the Cedar Rapids, Iowa jury filed out to deliberate over the murder case against Jerome Power, the 50-year-old suspect dumped a glass of water on his lawyer’s head, according to the Gazette.
“It should have been a mistrial,” Power said after dumping the water on attorney Steve Addington. “You sold me out!”
Power is charged with first-degree murder for allegedly strangling to death his neighbor, Doris Bevins, 68, in her home on Sept. 19, 2010. Police said they found Power hiding behind the front door when they responded to the 911 call from Bevin’s friend who was on the phone with her when she was attacked.
The ABA Journal reports that Power’s lawyer argued there was no DNA linking the defendant to the crime and questioned why Power would try to rob and attack a woman that, everyone in the neighborhood knew had no money.
This isn’t the only strange behavior exhibited by Power during the trial, according to KWWL.
Last week, Power held up a hand-written sign, claiming someone else killed his neighbor

Contrary to what his belivers would rather have you think, Olumba Olumba Obu, the man who gathered followers after himself, claiming to be God, has since died.
This much was revealed by one of his former frontline followers who is now a Pentecostal Pastor. This former follower, Pastor Lovina Amangala Iburene of The Truth Ministry/The True Lovers of Christ, World Charity Ministry, Lagos, told News Express that Olumba, whose Brotherhood of the Cross and Star is headquartered in the South-South state of Cross River, died way back in 2003.
According to her, “Olumba gave up the ghost and was secretly buried… He died in the night.” And when asked how she came to know, the firebrand pastor who left Brotherhood of the Cross and Star in 2001 said: “I was informed by an insider.”
Iburene also accused the leadership of the church of sustaining the Olumba myth through sheer deception. Olumba Olumba Obu has yet to be seen in public since 2003. She continues: “The level of deception rose to the stage where if asked by journalists and their members from afar, the answer is always ‘he is sleeping’. To those from nearby places, he has ascended into heaven. Lies upon lies!,” Iburene said.
Olumba had on April 14, 2000, crowned his son Rowland as the “Christ”, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. Rowland is now effectively in charge of the church.

Saudi Arabia Chops Off Nigerian’s Right Hand For Theft

Saudi authorities on Wednesday chopped off the hand of a Nigerian man convicted of theft, in compliance with the Islamic sharia law strictly applied in the kingdom, the interior ministry said.
Mohammed Ahmed Ibrahim was convicted of theft and sentenced to having “his right hand amputated” the ministry said in a statement carried by SPA state news agency.
The punishment was executed in the western city of Mecca, home to the Muslim holy Grand Mosque, where the theft took place, it said.
The ultra-conservative kingdom applies the Islamic sharia law, including executions by the sword for people convicted of rape, murder, apostasy, armed robbery and drug trafficking.
Just recently, a Palestinian was beheaded in the kingdom for forming a robbery gang.
