We should go to God for solutions – Kumuyi

The General Overseer of the Deeper Life Bible Church, William Kumuyi has advised Nigerians to always go to God for solutions.

Kumuyi was quoted as saying this in a statement by the church Secretary, Pastor Jerry Asemota, announcing the church’s national Easter retreat programme.

He said, “The scripture has said that man born of woman is full of troubles. In a world full of challenges, most people daily live under various forms of defeat. These troubles have necessitated the search for solutions. However many people seek the way out of life’s challenges from wrong quarters, most times, complicating the situation.

“As a Bible-believing church, we hold sacred the word of God. In commemorating the vicarious death of Christ on the cross and His glorious resurrection, we come together via a retreat to reflect on that supernatural event and to receive the power to live victorious lives. For us, Christ’s resurrection is a sign that one day we shall arise to meet him in a new body,” the statement read in part.

The three-day retreat which is scheduled to take off on April 17, 2014 is expected to run concurrently with the church’s monthly revival and miracle programme. The twin event will hold at the church’s Conference Centre on KM 42, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Kumuyi is expected to lead other clerics at the event which will hold simultaneously in all the states and regional headquarters of the church within Nigeria. The programme is also expected to feature seminars, choir/orchestra renditions, prayer and intercessory sessions and above all power-packed ministrations by Kumuyi.

“To achieve freedom from oppressions and the oppressors, the oppressed need a higher power that has no negative consequences. The power that raised Jesus from the dead is potent enough to set the oppressed free and to make a repentant sinner walk in newness of life,” he said.
