A former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kaduna, Yaro Makama, was among the dozens of party members who decamped to the All Progressives Congress, APC, on Tuesday.
Seven serving members of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, and four former commissioners also left the ruling party for the opposition APC.
The decampees were being welcomed to their new party at about 5:15 p.m. in Kaduna.
Kaduna is the home state of Vice President Namadi Sambo and has been ruled by the PDP since 1999.
