A security source has just told us of shooting in Dunga, in Tafawa Balewa area of Bauchi State, following the arrival of unknown gunmen who immediately started shooting.
Details are still sketchy, but gun shots were still being heard at the time of this report.
Only today, President Goodluck Jonathan ended the emergency he declared in 15 local council areas in four States last December. The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Mohammed Adoke, said that local and state governments will now be responsible for the maintenance of security in those States: Plateau, Borno, Yobe, and Niger.
Last Wednesday, July 11, four persons were killed when unknown gunmen invaded Tafawa Balewa.
