Oral Sex Crashes 11-Year Old Marriage

A 66 -year old retiree, Michael Adesanya Agboola, has said that he fell apart with his ex-wife, Funke Alasiri because he stopped licking her private part. But, his estranged wife has denied the allegation.

Micheal

The Osun State-born driver who also claims his ex- wife forcibly evicted him from a bungalow he built on 26, Apode Street, Ojodu, Lagos, about four years ago in order to inherit it, said further that it is high time he challenged her in the open over the ownership of the house because of his futile attempts to get justice at the Lagos State Citizens Mediation Centre which he said declined to act on the matter for no clear reason.Agboola, whose 11-year old marriage to Funke was dissolved by the Agege Grade ‘A’ Customary Court, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria, added that when he demanded an explanation for her unusual request, she told him it was the vogue among couples and that he must do it to satisfy her.
“We started having problems because of her violent attitude and messy request for sex all the time. She was making sickening requests, asking me to lick her private part, which I did on several occasions. I never knew she applied juju on her private part to hypnotise me, because no sooner did I start licking her private part than I completely abandoned my first wife and four children.
“At a point, I warned her never to ask me for oral sex again. But one day, I was dressed for work when she rushed at me, begging me to come and suck her private part. It was then that I regained my consciousness and left her to marry another woman who has a child for me.”
Micheal Agboola

He said:”I met her in 1997 during a visit to my dry cleaner in the neighbourhood. I saw her hawking clothes and bought two T-shirts from her. On getting home, my twin sons said I should buy them T-shirts too. The same day, I went back to my dry cleaner, who took me to Funke’s house.”
Agboola alleged that a few months later, he bought for her a plot of land foN650,000 on which she built a bungalow consisting of seven mini-flats and a shop.
“She told me that she would make three requests and that I should prepare for a showdown if I did not grant one of them. One, that I must divorce my eldest wife. Two, that I should give her permission to adopt a child. Three, that I should share my property with her because she feared that she might never get anything from my will if I died.
“I turned down the requests and queried her for wanting to adopt a child when I was not complaining about her childlessness. Moreover, she had two children from her previous marriage. It was at this point that she threatened to use the police to deal with me for rejecting her requests, and she boasted she would take over my property while I am still alive for being an ungrateful husband.
However,  Mrs. Funke Alasiri dismissed her ex-husband’s allegations describing them as rubbish and unfounded.
Her words:”When we went to Agege Customary Court where he  filed for a divorce suit, he mentioned the same thing, that I demanded for oral sex by asking him to lick my private part. He was rebuked by the President of the court.”

Subsidy scam: Two more oil marketers docked, detained

LAGOS — Two more oil marketers, Oluwaseun Ogunbambo, Habila Theck and their company, Fargo Energy Limited accused of swindling the Federal Government in oil subsidy scam were arraigned, yesterday, at an Ikeja High Court on a six count charge of conspiracy, obtaining money under false pretence, forgery and using forged documents.
They were accused of defrauding the government of N979,653,110.28. They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge
The prosecution alleged that the offences they committed are contrary to section 8 and punishable under section 1 (1)(2)(3) of the Advanced Fee Fraud and other Fraud Related Offences Act, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria as well as sections 363 and 364 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria No 11, Laws of Lagos State 2011.
According to the charge, the accused persons and the oil company  “on or about February 10, 2012, with intent to defraud, conspired to fraudulently obtain N976,653,110.28  from the federal government of Nigeria by falsely representing that the said sum represented subsidy accruing on importation of 13,627,084 litres of Premium Motor Spirit(PMS) purportedly purchased from Sealac Petroleun Limited and imported into Nigeria through MT Diplomat and MT Milleura which representation they knew to be false”.
It further alleged that the defendants and the oil company “on 14th day of October, 2011 at Lagos and within Ikeja judicial division, with intent to defraud and in order to facilitate your obtaining money by false pretence from the federal government of Nigeria, under the Petroleum Support Fund, forged a document titled “Certificate of Origin, Port of Loading Antwerp Belgium” dated 14th day of October, 2011, purporting the document to have been issued by Sealac Petroleum Limited”.
Shortly after their pleas were taken, their counsel, Mr. Babajide Koku (SAN) informed the court of his plan to move their applications for bail.
However, he said he had two different  applications, one of which was dated July 25, 2012 and forwarded to court last week and a new one filed yesterday morning. He then applied that one the bail applications dated July 25, 2012 be struck out substituted with the new application.
He said the move was to react to the counter affidavit filed by the EFCC which opposed the bail for the 1st defendant.
The prosecution then urged the court to grant it time to react to some fundamental issues raised in the new application filed by the defence while the defence asked for two days to react to all issues raised in the counter affidavit of the bail application.
While conceding the need for an adjournment, the prosecution urged the court to order that the accused persons be detained in the custody of the EFCC pending when their applications for bail will be argued.
The trial judge, Justice Adeniyi Onigbanjo ordered the detention of the defendants at the EFCC and adjourned the matter till Wednesday, August 1, 2012 (tomorrow) for argument on bail application.

Bank driver arrested with 19 ATM cards, N652,000

he Lagos State Police Command has arrested Dare Oladujoye, a driver with Zenith Bank, for allegedly being in possession of 19 Guaranty Trust Bank ATM cards and the sum of N652, 000.
We learnt that the suspect was using the cards to withdraw money from an ATM at Ogba branch of GTB when a security guard raised the alarm.
The Commissioner of Police for the state police command, Mr. Umar Manko, said as of the time of his arrest, the suspect had withdrawn N652, 000 from the ATM.

Manko said, “On July 26, 2012, around 8:30pm, there was a distress call that there was commotion at GTB, Ogba branch. On getting there, the suspect was seen with 19 ATM cards.
“He is an employee of Zenith Bank and we wondered what he was doing with the 19 cards. He was arrested and as of the time of his arrest, he had cashed N652, 000. The matter is under investigation.”
The suspect however denied stealing the ATM cards. He said whenever he lent people money, he would collect their ATM cards as collateral and return them after payment.
He said, “I usually loan people money and I’ve been doing it for over a year. Whenever I loan people money, I will collect their ATM cards and their Personal Identification Numbers. When they repay me, I return their cards to them.
“However, if they don’t pay me back in cash, I go to withdraw money from their accounts through the ATM.”
When quizzed on where he got the money which he lent people, he said he was into various kinds of businesses.
He also said he had friends in the banking sector who helped him with funds.
He said, “I am a very hard working person. I joined Zenith Bank as a driver over three years ago and in less than a year, I bought a tricycle which I leased to another driver that gives me returns on a regular basis.
“The following year, I bought two tricycles bringing the total number to three. I make N150,000 monthly from the tricycles and N60,000 from my salary. I also get credit facilities through my connections in the banking sector.
“On the day I was arrested, I went to withdraw money on Thursday night with some of the cards when a security guard raised the alarm. I did not steal those cards. I know the owners of the cards and I have their numbers on my phone.”
Meanwhile, the command has warned members of the public to be very careful when buying vehicles so as not to buy stolen ones.
The warning became imperative following the arrest of two mechanics who allegedly received six stolen vehicles and even sold some to members of the public.
Manko said buyers could sense stolen vehicles by their cheap prices.
It was learnt that on July 7, 2012, Sunday Okoduwa came with a report that his car was stolen on Victoria Island.
Policemen later traced the car to a workshop in Agidingbi and arrested a man identified simply as Abdusalam, who in turn claimed that he bought it from one Idowu Adegboyega.
We learnt that when Adegboyega was arrested and could not give a satisfactory explanation, his house was searched and some documents were found which led to the recovery of six other vehicles.
A police source said, “When we searched the suspect’s house, some documents were recovered which led to the recovery of six other vehicles.
“All the vehicles were registered in the name of one Oti Olusekola Jacob, who is believed to belong to the gang of armed robbers in Lagos.”
In a related development, the police have arrested 12 armed robbery suspects.
Police authorities said the suspects belonged to a syndicate that specialised in snatching vehicles from the owners at gunpoint.
The police alleged that the suspects operated in Ikorodu where they robbed and also sold vehicles.
According to the police, Ahmed Abdullahi, Azeez Abiodun, Olusoga Taiwo, Wasiu Azeez and Dele Balogun are among the suspects arrested.
It was learnt that three of the suspects, Adebiyi Mafimisesin, Lekan Aibinuomo and Okalawon Akinpelu; were receivers of stolen vehicles, which were either Toyota or Honda products.
A police source said, “The case emanated from Ikorodu Police Station and was reported on June 20, 2012 by a complainant who was attacked and robbed of his Toyota Sienna Space bus.
“We swung into action and we discovered where they keep stolen vehicles and sell to buyers. We recovered six vehicles; Toyota Sienna, Toyota Corolla, Honda Accord, Toyota Camry and two others.
“We also recovered single-barrelled locally-made shotguns and 24 live cartridges and one expended cartridge.”

Your mum confessed to have killed your dad; would you forgive her?

Antonia and her brothers had just returned from the village after the burial of their late father. She thought it felt like only yesterday when the whole family including her father saw a programme on TV. There was some much love bond reflecting in all of them that she whispered a prayer of thanks.
She had wished that her parents watch her own children grow. But that won’t be possible anymore. Because daddy had kicked the bucket untimely.   Dad was the healthiest, most careful of men and he doesn’t eat outside his home.  So how could it be possible that he had been  poison through food?
She was thinking about all these when she heard a scratchy sound in the sitting room. Thinking it was one of her younger brothers trying to be naughty again, but the scratchy sound continued until she decided to go close. Her mum was on phone whispering! It was strange because her mum doesn’t whisper on phone. Her mum naturally barks  she thought, but she wasn’t at that moment.
She was baffled about it all and eavesdropped on her mum’s side of the conversation. Her mum had a hint of fear about her as though she didn’t want to wake up the dead. So she pressed further to hear more. And as  she was  listening, she heard her mum say she didn’t want the children to know she was the one who killed their father…

Walkaway, but…
Benson Okonkwo, Actor
If l find out that my mum is the cause of my father’s death then, I  would confront her about it. This is not a matter for carry over. It is a matter that needs immediate attention. How did she kill my father? Why did she kill my father? Was it something she did or she did not do?
Was it a medical decision or there about?  She must tell me why she did it. Whether she had planned to kill my dad or it was an accident. I will always remember that she is my mum and that l have lost one parent to death and I wouldn’t want to lose another no matter what. But if l find out she killed my dad, l won’t forgive her and l would move out of her house. But l won’t ever report her to the Police because that might mean losing another parent.
Confrontation, but…
Ginikan Maureen, Actress
If l find myself in this kind of situation then confrontation is the best way of attack. She has to explain what l heard and what actually happened to my dad.  And after listening to her tales, l would decide whether she is lying or not. And if she is lying then, the law would handle it. She would dance to the music.
She cannot want to live after snuffing the life of another person, especially my own father. What mother would do this to her children? What wife would do this to her own husband? What crime did he commit?  I would not be able to live with a mother such as that if she is proven guilty.
If she is paying for her crime then I would forgive, but if she wins her case and l am convinced she killed my dad, then l would move out of the house and never returned again. Who knows who would be the next on her death list?

Forgiveness, but no association

My own mum is on phone saying she killed my dad! I would be in shock at first, but of course l will recover. It definitely might feel like a nightmare. And questions like these would go through my mind.  What did she gain after his death? Why did she kill her own husband? What did he do to deserve death?
I will probably be in shock and not eat but confine myself to my room in thought.  Of course I would be scared of her, the woman l have always called my mum! How can this woman kill her own husband? I would wonder whether l am even safe in that house or whether l am her real child or whether  my brothers are also safe.
I am not a confrontational person, so I won’t be able to confront her; l might be forced to write her a long letter and ask what happened? Why did she kill my dad and perhaps ask to see her outside my home because l would have moved out of that house.

Gunmen kill one at VP Sambo’s house • Suicide bomber attacks office of AIG zone 10 • Suspected terrorists on the rampage in Sokoto, Kaduna

GUNMEN   early Monday attacked the family residence of the Vice-President Namadi Sambo in Tundun-Wada, Zaria, Kaduna State, injuring the two mobile policemen guarding the house.
A cobbler attending to one of the mobile policemen as of the time of the attack was reportedly hit and died on the spot. The attack on the VP house occurred at 11 o’clock in the morning.
Also, suspected suicide bombers launched attacks on the office of the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 10 in Sokoto, Muhtari Ibrahim, and a shop owned by the Police Officer Wives’ Association, adjacent to the Unguwar Rogo police station, Marina, Sokoto.
Dead victims of the Sokoto attacks included a hairdresser,  a policeman, and the two suspected bombers.
The attacks in Sokoto and Kaduna came on a day the police announced the casualty figure of Sunday night’s bombing in Kano. The police said four persons were killed in the blast that rocked the Kano-Gwarzo Road but residents insisted on Monday that the casualty figure was higher.
In Tundun-Wada, Zaria, unknown gunmen on a motorbike fired at Sambo’s residence under rehabilitation and injured the policemen on guard.
The house had remained uninhabited by the VP family since it was attacked during the 2011 post-election violence in Kaduna State.
Ibrahim confirmed the attack on his office and the death of a policeman, a Corporal; and the suicide bomber. He said eight policemen and a civilian were injured as a result of the attack.
The AIG said that five offices and other parts of the one-storey building, the gate, and some neighbouring houses were shattered. The official car of the police chief was also reportedly damaged.
He was quoted by the News Agency of Nigeria as saying that the suicide bomber who attacked his office drove a Honda Accord car and forced his way into the premises after he was denied entry.
Ibrahim said that only the dead suicide bomber was in the vehicle, adding that investigations would continue on the development.
He asked members of the public to provide security agencies with useful information to curb the trend.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Kudu Nma, who confirmed  the attack on the Unguwar Rogo police station, said the attacker could not gain access into the police station .
According to Nma, only the attacker died at the Unguwar Rogo police station after he struck a nearby POWA shop.
Spokesman for the Sokoto State Police  Command,  Sani Salisu, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, confirmed the death of the hairdresser at the POWA shop near Unguwar rogo police station.
The Deputy Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba, who also confirmed the attacks, said security had been beefed in the areas.
“Security has been beefed up in Sokoto and Zaria and men of the Anti-Terrorist Squad have taken over the areas,” Mba told our team.
The violent attacks in Sokoto and Kaduna, analysts said on Monday must have taken security agents by surprise given the expectation that the attackers, believed to be members of the violent Islamic sect, Boko Haram, would cease fire during the Ramadan season.
The attacks also came barely 24 hours after two ex-heads of state, Olusegun Obasanjo and Ibrahim Babangida, in a joint statement lamented the worsening state of security in the country. Obasanjo and Babangida said Nigerians were living in fear and uncertainty.
The Kano State Police Commissioner, Mr Ibrahim Idris had also confirmed the  attack  on the city  on Sunday night.
He said that some gunmen attempted to attack a mosque in Jan Bulo quarters around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday.
An official statement by the command on Monday said, “The Kano State Police Command wish to inform the general public that on 29th Day of July 2012 at 2030hrs, unknown gunmen on three motorcycles attacked a patrol team attached to Rijar Zaki positioned at 2nd Gate JamblockEstate.
“The police patrol team responded and in the ensuing gun duel, two of the attackers were gunned down by the police, while two died from explosives they were carrying.
“One of them was burnt beyond recognition. There was no police or civilian casualty. Recovered at the scene of the incident were three motorcycles, one AK 47 rifle, an assault rifle and 50 rounds of ammunition.
“Officers of the Command Anti-Bomb Squad combed the entire area and further recovered 10 undetonated explosives. The area is now calm.”
However, residents of the area insisted on Monday that the casualty figure was higher because it was a densely populated area.
“Whoever claimed that only four people (attackers) died is telling a huge lie. Some civilians were victims too. The area was busy with people; some were still breaking their Ramadan fast. Some were already at the mosque for prayers,” a resident who did not want his name mentioned told our correspondent in Kano on Monday.
Meanwhile, the Senate President, David Mark, has condemned the Sokoto attacks and asked security agencies to come with new strategy to deal with the worsening insecurity in the country.
Mark said the attacks were an assault on the peaceful co-existenc among the people of Sokoto and begged religious leaders to continue to appeal to members of Boko Haram to accept the dialogue offer from government.
He said, “The Federal Government will not dialogue with itself. It has to dialogue with those who are disenchanted with the system, particularly, leadership and members of the Boko Haram sect.
“We also urged our political and religious leaders to continue to appeal to the sect to listen to the voice of reason.”

The easy way to untimely death !

It is often said that a stick of cigarette reduces 5 minutes out of human's life. What is your take on this ?

Double jeopardy for Ursula!

IMAGINE a life of uncertainty. Imagine a death sentence hanging over your head. Imagine knowing that help is next door but you cannot access it simply because you don’t have the means? These aptly explain the predicament of 27 – year- old Ursula Nwachukwu, who is battling with a potentially fatal disorder described as End Stage Kidney Failure in medical parlance.
Ursula’s two kidneys have packed up. Her condition is compounded by uterine fibroid – another life-threatening ailment.
A first glance gives the false impression that she is in the last trimester of pregnancy. Alas! She is not. She is in double jeopardy. Both conditions are usually a one-way ticket to death if not urgently addressed.
She bloats up in size day by day, but, deadly as her condition is, doctors are hopeful that there is a reprieve. With  N2.7 million, Ursula will be on her feet again.
Before now, the young woman was full of expectations. A graduate of accountancy from  University of Lagos, UNILAG, she was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease in January 2011, while awaiting her call-up for the National Youth Corps (NYSC). More pathetic is the fact that she was unable to make it to the NYSC camp. Ill health denied her that pleasure.
*Ursula Nwachukwu
For Ursula and her guardian, Theodore Akojuru, life has not been easy since her diagnosis. Her life has been full of pain and anguish.
Akojuri, Ursula’s brother in-law, noted that since the diagnosis, she has been in and out of hospital seeking cure. The illness has taken her to Imo State where she undergoes dialysis twice/thrice weekly at Urlu Specialist Hospital. Information has it that her renal transplant would be done locally at the Specialist Hospital.
The hospital was recently upgraded and equipped with modern facilities by Governor Rochas Okorocha.
Akojuri is confident his in-law can be well attended to at the hospital, but is worried  the chronic level of poverty in the land is denying millions of people from accessing quality and  affordable treatment.
“Of late, she became very ill, we have been taking her from hospital to hospital. In January last year, after series of tests, she was discovered to have kidney failure. So she started dialysis. At first, my family and my wife’s family picked the bill, while we made plans to get the bulk money for her operation. But when the burden became  unbearable, we started looking for funds from individuals and organizations.
Medical examinations carried out by a consultant radiologist, Dr. C. U Ibekwe, indicated that Ursula’s two kidneys show grade three  renal disease and that there is free intraperitoneal fluid. It also indicated CRF with different kidney sizes, renal artery stenosis and urine fibroid.
Continuing, Akojuri  recalled his experience with an Imo Foundation allegedly set up by Governor Rochas Okorocha to cater for the needs of the less privileged. He said: “In our search for help, we took her to Imo Foundation. When we got there, she was number 30 on the list of people seeking help for kidney transplant. There, things are done the normal way and people are attended on first come, first served basis. We know that is how it should be, but because she is in a critical condition, we cannot let her wait her turn.
“This is a matter of life and death. This is why we decided to come to talk to the media. We want Nigerians at home and abroad to come to Ursula’s aid. She is to undergo two surgeries and we need help from everyone in any way possible to carry out these operations on her.
“Help us please. We don’t want anything to happen to Ursula. So, we are calling on individuals and all health foundations to come to our aid.
We gathered that the MTN Foundation has been doing a lot in this regard, and we are reaching out to the company for assistance.” If you are touched by Ursula’s story please send your donations to Mr. Theodore Akojuri, Diamond Acct. no. 002 605 4857 or call him on 08120094947

Your brother defiled your six year old daughter, would you forgive him?

It has been five years since my brother went to jail for the crime of defilement. And I am still wondering if I can ever forgive him. It is so because he didn’t only defile a child according to the law, he committed incest with his own niece who happens to be my six year old daughter.
Their closeness started like a joke because she was a very ugly child and he was always laughing at her. Eventually, she dropped her baby thinness and started putting on weight which brought out a queenly beauty.
It was amazing because even at six, she looked like a ten year old and it was fascinating to gaze at her beauty, so innocent and alarming.
Uche Jombo
Johnny took an uncanny interest in my daughter that sometimes keeps me wishing for my husband’s presence. My husband had travelled to Somalia for a peace keeping mission, he was a soldier. Johnny moved in with us because we needed a man in the house and I felt not only at home, but secured.
It was wonderful having him in our home until that fateful day l walked into his bedroom unannounced and met the biggest shock of my life…

Forgiveness is God’s – Uche Jombo, Actress
This is a pathetic story and the man is indeed sick. We are talking about a six year old girl who was defiled by her biological uncle. This is sickening to imagine. And it makes me feel so cold. Has this world turned into this? He couldn’t sleep with an adult woman like he is supposed to? What was he thinking? Has he forgotten there’s God somewhere?
Anyway, the best thing to do is to take care of the child in question and leave the rest for God to judge. Bearing in mind that he is family and if we push it too hard, it might be taken to the extreme. What l mean extreme in the context is that one might be tempted to do the unthinkable and we might live our lives regretting later. So my candid advise is that she forgives and allow God be God.
Damn him to hell! – Rugby Ojiakor, Actress
Seriously speaking at this point, of this unsettling drama. I would pick the first weapon that comes to my hand, but if he is fortunate and doesn’t die or injured badly. I would disown him for life. Sexual abuse on a minor is the height of destroying a child’s life.
The child cannot forget the episode even if the adult does. It would have damage the victim’s life and it only take the grace of God for that child to turn out well. The issue here is not only an abuse on a child, but on a child who is your blood.
It is like sleeping with your own child! It is pure incest and it is an abomination in the eyes of God. How could any man get turn on by a child of six? This is unbelievable and my so- called brother should rot in hell for all l care. As for my child, l would look for the best way to help her forget the ungodly situation.
No way! – Uche Iwuanyanwu, Actress
I would kill my brother at first sight if I let my anger take the better part of me, so I will try and calm down and take a rational step. My child will be rushed to the hospital for treatment and check up and I will immediately call on the Police and before they get to my house, I will ask that brother of mine what got into him and why he chose to bring this disgrace upon himself.
I would not ever forgive a brother who could do that to my child or any child of that age. That would be inhuman, demonic an satanic on his part and the best place for someone like that is hell fire. Only God can forgive him because l probably would not ever forgive him. And if l do, then it would only take the grace of God.
This is not a movie to watch, it is a sacrilege. He would have ruined my daughter’s life and future. It would take the grace and mercies of God to make her whole again. But for the law, he would dance of course to their music in jail.

Your husband got best friend pregnant; would you forgive him?

It is terrible what some men can do because of the inability to control themselves. Maybe, it shouldn’t be called a lack of control, but an intentional act done to spite their wives or the women in their lives.
My ex- husband is a good example of the epitome of lack of control in men. Each time I think of his last escapades, l still wonder if it is possible for Femi not to have known that Amanda, the lady he met abroad is still the same childhood best friend whose photographs he had seen severally in my collections.
Amanda and I did everything together while we were growing up. We went to the same primary school and the same University. We were even posted to the same state during youth service.  We had everything in common except for the men in our lives. In fact, we nearly liked the same men and it showed each time one of us brings home a guy.
Amanda got a visa to Britain, but it didn’t stop our friendship. We couldn’t always talk much because of the expensiveness of international calls, we couldn’t even do mails because Cyber café was just a new development and computers was just finding their way into the country to the very rich.
So as I was getting married, Amanda couldn’t make it to the wedding because she didn’t have a stay at that time and we decided that she shouldn’t come because she might not be able to go back if she dares it. The marriage formality was done and life went to normal with the twins coming and the girl following two years after.
It was exactly five years into my marriage when this seemingly impossible episode took place. My husband had being a playboy, but for some time, he had being acting like a changed man. So l thought all was well with my family.  I thought he had finally settled down to enjoy being a dad to our children and a husband and friend to me.
His company sent him abroad for a six months course and we practically spoke every other day while he was there. He returned back and I got a call from my best friend, she said she was coming to Nigeria for her marriage and l was happy for her, she also said that she was already pregnant for the man in question.
Amanda came to town and rented a place, so most of the times l visit her because Femi returns from the office late and the children stay back at school for their  lessons. I found out her husband to be’s name is also Femi with my Femi’s surname. I was surprised, but saw it as a coincidence; it was on one of my visits to her place that l met her fiancé who happens to be my own …

No way! – Ematai, Artiste
This is a very difficult one and I do not think I can take it from my husband if l were to be in the wife’s shoes, no matter the amount of begging from him. And as for my friend, it is not her fault because she hasn’t met my husband or seen his photograph.
*Ematai
My husband took advantage of an innocent woman by lying that he wasn’t married. I cannot live with any man who could lie that bad to the extent of doing that to somebody who hasn’t offend him before. It only means that this type of husband would one day have a home number two and you the wife wouldn’t know a thing about it until probably he dies.
I would walk away with children and l hope my friend does the same thing too because what he has done to me, he would do it to another.
*Ogechi Okafor
Forgive him, but with…Chidiebere Aneke, Actress
It would be a tough one for me because the law says ignorance is not an excuse. Why did he cheat on me in the first place? Honestly, I would be devastated, but l will ask God for strength to forgive him and still stay in the marriage.
I naturally hate divorce and I am sure my own parents must have passed challenges while l was growing up. It is not the problem that is the issue, but how you overcome it. As for my friend, she would keep the pregnancy because there would not be any thought of abortion from my angle. Together we shall see what God has in mind for us at the long run, but as for sharing my husband, l would not ever do that.
Walk away- Ogechi Okafor, Artiste
He is claiming he didn’t recognize my own best friend, but he has being seeing her photographs since he married me. He is also aware that she lives in Britain and yet he claims it is a mistake? What was he planning to do, to have another home somewhere while l live like the fool?
I do not think l married a fool as a husband who would not know the difference between a photograph of five years and the real person of today. I believe my girl friend would love me enough to leave that type of man for good. And as for me, that marriage is over because I would walk away and pick up the pieces of my life without a thought of him.

The other two deaths are of the suicide bombers, one of whom drove into the Police building at Unguwar Rogo and was killed, and the other into the zonal offices of the Assistant Inspector General of Police at Marina.
Sources close to scene of the blasts said that the policeman was killed when he attempted to stop the suicide bomber  who drove a Volkswagen Golf car inside the AIG's office but was struck by the explosion from the car that he was pursuing.
The second suicide bomber died after hitting a ditch before reaching his target, which seemed to be the Police Officers’ Wives shops adjacent to Unguwar Rogo Police station.
Over 20 people around the explosion scenes suffered different category of injuries, including burned, and were rushed to area hospitals. Some of them were admitted at the Specialist Hospital and Usman Dan Fodio University Teaching Hospital.
No group has so far taken the responsibility for the attacks.

Nigerians living in fear, uncertainty – Obasanjo, IBB

Former heads of state, General Olusegun Obasanjo and General Ibrahim Babangida have expressed concern over the growing insecurity in the country, saying “Nigeria is currently under fear and uncertainty.”
In a joint statement obtained by our correspondent in Abuja on Sunday, they warned that the consequences were capable of affecting the unity of the country.
They said the loss of innocent lives being experienced across the country was no longer bearable.
The two leaders said, “The loss of innocent lives by the day across the nation is simply unbearable.
“Currently, the nation is gripped by a regime of fear and uncertainty that virtually all citizens have difficulties going about their normal day-to-day activities with great anxiety and trepidation. This cannot be allowed to continue.”
They said unfolding events had posed threats to the labour of the nation’s founding fathers and subsequent generations in building a strong, united, peaceful country that can accommodate and cater for the needs and aspirations of our diverse communities.
Obasanjo and Babangida also lamented the untold hardship in the country.
They claimed that a deeply worrying trend that was emerging from this terrible situation was that a pervasive cynicism was beginning to set in, so much so that millions of true Nigerian patriots were starting to question the platform upon which the unity of the country rests.

However, they appealed to Nigerians not to allow frustration, fear and despair to supersede their hope for a collective destiny, which lies in their continued existence as a nation.
Both leaders declared that as for them, and some millions of other Nigerians, the continued unity of Nigeria was not only priceless but non-negotiable.
Their statement reads in part, “While we are very much aware of the efforts various governments in the country are making to confront the escalating security challenges across the country, we believe that it is time that these efforts are scaled up to be more involving and inclusive.
“In this regard, whatever robust security measures are put in place to contain the situation, as is normal in such circumstances; they must be complemented with an equally intensive process of community involvement.
“We therefore urge all governments in the country, starting with all the 774 local councils to comprehensively engage their communities at the various levels, including elders, youth organisations, trade union and associations, women bodies, clerics and other community stakeholders.
“We also call on the Federal and state governments not only to encourage these grass roots engagements for peace and beneficial coexistence but should work out the framework to sustain the engagement.”
They said that in all these efforts, it was important to emphasise that Nigeria’s diversity should be a course for celebration and not a cause for lamentations.

FG to send soldiers to fight Islamists in Mali

INDICATIONS emerged on Sunday that Nigeria will soon deploy soldiers in Mali to confront the Islamists troubling the West African country, the Presidency and foreign affairs ministry said on Sunday.
Spokespersons for President Goodluck Jonatha, Reuben Abati; and Foreign Affairs Ministry, Ogbole Ahmedu-Ode, say Nigeria holds a responsibility to return peace to Mali.
“Nigeria is committed to resolving the crisis in Mali especially as President Jonathan is a co-mediator in the crisis,” Abati told our news desk on Sunday, while Ogbole-Ode said it was mandatory for the country to salvage the situation in Mali where Islamic fundamentalists are unleashing attacks on the country’s monuments and people.
The Presidency’s confirmation came on the heels of Ivorien President Alassane Ouattara’s announcement that member state of Economic Community of West Africa would soon send deploy troops in Mali if the situation in the country did not improve rapidly.
Ouattara said this in interview with French weekly, Le Journal du Dimanche. The interview conducted in French and published on Sunday was translated by our news desk via Google translator.
The Ivorien President, who is also the incumbent chairman of ECOWAS, said,  “If the (Malian) situation does not evolve positively and quickly, yes, there will be a military intervention in Mali. It seems to me inevitable. “The chiefs of staff of West Africa met in Abidjan this week. All member states of ECOWAS were represented. It shows that the Joint Chiefs of Staff Officers propose the establishment of a contingent of nearly 3,300 men. Initially, it will deploy gendarmes and police. Then, the military.
“My chief of staff said this week rightly that the situation in Mali is deteriorating a little more each day and not only in the north but also south. We plan to establish an African peacekeeping force made up half of Malian soldiers, half of soldiers from Niger, Nigeria, perhaps in Chad and other countries.”
On the urgency of the deployment, Ouattara said, “I think we can talk in weeks, not months. There is urgency. Northern Mali is a land of moderate Islam. Not Malians who violate human rights, force women to wear the burqah and abuse them, who destroy historical monuments, preventing young people from listening to music . I am told that these men come from Yemen, Afghanistan, Pakistan … They are extremists, terrorists who must return to where they came from.”
Abati said, “The ECOWAS leaders have the responsibility to ensure peace in Mali and the sub-region. Nigeria is committed to resolving the crisis in Mali especially as President Jonathan is a co-mediator in the crisis.
“This country has a brilliant record of participation in peace missions: Sierra Leone, Liberia and so on. Nigeria is fully committed to regional peace.”
Speaking in the same vein, Ogbole-Ode said Nigeria, as “a responsible member of the international community, was bound by agreements it entered into.”
But the opposition argued on Sunday that it was not ideal for the Federal Government to send soldiers to Mali to fight for peace at a time that Nigeria was in the thick of an insurgency.
Attacks by the violent Islamic sect, Boko Haram, since last year have claimed at least 3,000 lives.
The All Nigeria Peoples Party said that although there was nothing wrong if Nigeria sent soldiers to Mali, the present security situation at home did not warrant it.
