he Police in Borno state say three people have been killed in attacks by the Boko Haram sect, in spite of a state of emergency declared by the Federal Government.
According to the Borno State Commissioner of Police Mr. Simeon Midenda two suspected Boko Haram gunmen shot dead the Head of the Shehuri Neighbourhood in Maiduguri.
Meanwhile our correspondent who is in Borno state says that two separate bomb blasts hit the Customs formation in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.
The bombs hit the perimeter fence of the Nigeria Customs facility near the Gamboru vegetable market.
No causalities were however reported.
And in Yobe, State Police Chief Tanko Lawan says suspected sect members also killed the Leader of a neighbourhood in Damaturu during a simultaneous attack.
Meanwhile, in Jigawa state, which is not under a state of emergency, the State commissioner of police Mr Hasimu Argungu says a girl was killed in the crossfire after suspected sect members attacked a police station
